Powerful Prayer

An example of the power of prayer: “You have not because you ask not.” James 4:2

For years I’ve been praying for God to bring an awakening among unbelivers and a revival for believers in America. And now He is answering, in an unexpected way. Here are comments from different articles about this great answer to prayer.

“Charlie Kirk’s premature death has led to a level of introspection that causes people to ask, ‘What am I living for right now?’”

An example is former Navy SEAL, Jack Carr, who said he and his family were motivated to go back to church following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, marking an example of people embracing church and Christianity

“That has also caused a re-examination…for us as a family,” he said. Kirk’s murder… is leading them to re-evaluate their lives in light of the possibility of dying at a young age.

“There’s one church in Michigan that said a number of young adults who were raised in the church" but hadn't been there for years "showed back up.”

Chris Tomlin, who led the singing at Kirk’s memorial service, said he’d met an Uber driver who told him after the service, “Man, that thing that happened to Charlie, it woke me up. I’m getting baptized this Sunday.” Chris continued, “People are coming hungry, wanting to connect with God. There’s no playing games anymore. It feels like we’re in a real moment, an awakening.”

A second powerful happening was when Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erica prayed at his memorial service, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do, I forgive the man who murdered my husband because it’s what Christ did, and it’s what Charlie would do.”

She continued, “We saw people pray for the first time since they were children, we saw people go to a church service for the first time in their entire lives. This past week, we saw people open a Bible for the first time in a decade. We saw people pray for the first time since they were children. We saw people go to a church service for the first time in their entire lives.”

There it is! A huge answer to prayer, turn tragedy into triumph!

How about you? Has it touched you?
