Prayers Appreciated

Phil 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”

A special report today from a hospital room, where Barbara is resting.

Over the past few days her oxygen levels have been erratic, dropping as low as 73,

(anything under 90 is not good, and less is increasingly dangerous). Tests have

determined that she has fluid build up in her lungs (as well as legs and feet).

They tell me that this is treatable with diet and care, so we have a learning curve in front of us.

Today our reading was in Phillipians 4 which commands us to bring our anxieties to God “with all

prayer and supplication WITH thanksgiving….” Barbara strongly dislikes being in the hospital,

so we talked about some of the reasons God may have for her to be here.

One reason we’ve seen already is opportunities to share the gospel with others. And He has already given two,

one with a nurse from Sira Lanka, and the other with a woman who abandoned her childhood belief.

I used “the question” with each, and neither knew the answer, so got I to share  the gospel with them. And they engaged.

Seeds sown; we will see how God uses that.

So beyond the physical/medical help, God clearly has other reasons for us to be here,

and we intend to join Him in His plans  today, rejoicing with thanksgiving for an unpleasant

but potentially profitable situation.

PS, Prayers for Barbara appreciated.
