At the end of the week, with all the parts sold from our car recovered and reinstalled, it was finally ready. We set off for home, stopping in the first good-sized town to buy some food for lunch.
There were about 20 little stores on the main street, all of which sold the things we were looking for. I randomly picked one and when I walked in, there was my bus driver friend sitting there! He was just as surprised as I was and told me that he is home only one day a month, and that was the day we came by! And I could have gone into any of the other 20 little stores rather than this one and missed him! God guides! What an amazing God sighting.
He took us to his home for tea and that began a long-term friendship that opened opportunities to share the gospel with him, a person who never would have heard otherwise. Many times when he drove his bus through our city, he would stop by, giving us lots of time to share Truth.
So, God had more than one positive reason for our “accident,” bringing much good out of it! Truly, without telling us why beforehand, or asking us our opinion, “He [made us] lie down in green pastures” (Ps. 23:2). We just have to trust Him to have control of the big picture and to praise Him in faith before we see or understand His plan.
Prayer: “Lord, your knowledge of what is happening is so far beyond mine. Help me to trust you, to rest in you when all looks confusing to me. Help me to be a ‘glory giver’ by praising you before I understand. Amen.”
