And then, the GREAT DAY of Easter, bringing the GREATEST EVENT in all of history: the first One born from the dead bringing the defeat of Satan and death, the purchase of forgiveness for all and the possibility of eternal life for all who believe. There has never been and never will be an event so momentous, so glorious, so infinitely great as the resurrection of Jesus from the dead!
It is interesting to note that Jesus seems to have been raised in the dark of night, for the women came at dawn and he was already up and gone. That was symbolic—the eternal light overcoming the darkness, the light that shines on every person (John 1). And the enlightenment went on: to Mary, to John and Peter, to the disciples, to many others including the 500. And then after the coming of the Holy Spirit, the light spread throughout Jerusalem, out into Judea, Samaria and eventually to the rest of the world.
God’s plan, laid out before the foundation of the World, was fulfilled just at the right time. And we are the inheritors of this light, for in Christ God has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the Kingdom of His Son in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins—our sins and the sins of the whole world!!!
Hallelujah!!! Praise God!!! To Him be glory forever and forever.
