“...to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge….” Ephesians 3:19
I love the way that God shows His love for us in what looks like ordinary happenings, coincidences many would say.
But they are much more than that: they are God reaching into our lives to provide for us, guide us, protect us. This is His love that passes just knowing about it. As you know, I call these “God Sightings,” events that let us taste the love of Christ in a very practical manner.
Here is one from this week. While at the transfer station I saw a man throwing away beautiful deck railings and deck boards. He let me take them. That made me think about the bridge from our parking area to the house. I’d built it in 1999 out of pressure treated wood, and it was pretty weathered. I could use this stuff to rebuild it.
Got home and measured the railing: it was the right length right to the inch. With my grandkids' help, we put up the new railings and laid down the boards on the floor. There weren’t quite enough, but I had others I’d also gotten from the transfer station to complete the task. I even had a two big boxes of the right kind of screws that someone had left for me.
So now we have a rejuvenated bridge and it didn’t cost us a cent, except for the silver dollar I gave my grandson for helping me. A nice, unexpected, unplayed for gift from God.
Watch for them in your own life and see your faith bolstered.
